Rumors about the development of a remake or remaster of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion have been circulating for several years now. It was previously reported that it was being developed by the Virtuos Games studio, which uses the Unreal Engine 5 in its work. At the same time, information has repeatedly surfaced that the game could be released at the end of 2024 or the beginning of 2025, but it has not yet been announced.
A new batch of rumors about The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion has appeared from insider eXtas1s. In his latest video, he revealed that an Oblivion remake does indeed exist and is in development, with a planned release date of 2025. The insider did not provide other details, but noted that he expects to see the official announcement of the game in January, when the Xbox Developer Direct is expected to take place.
Let us recall that for the first time information about a remake or remaster of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion appeared as part of a leak of Xbox documents during proceedings with the FTC. From them it became known that the project was being developed even before the merger of Microsoft and ZeniMax Media. Later, some insiders reported that the creation of this project was canceled.
It is worth saying that a few days ago, insider Shpeshal_Nick spoke about the presence of at least 3 more games on Xbox for 2025, which have not yet been presented. At the same time, he noted that “fans will be delighted with at least one of them.”
