2024 is an interesting year for Game Pass in terms of new releases. It was this year that Microsoft began adding the first Activision Blizzard games to the service, including the first new product from the new publisher for Xbox immediately after release – Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. But there were many other releases, both from internal studios and and from partners.
Trueachievements, which tracks statistics from more than 2.4 million Xbox player accounts, analyzed game launches on Game Pass throughout 2024. They compiled the TOP 10 most successful releases for the gaming service for the year, and quite expectedly, the new part of Call of Duty was in first place. But there are also a few surprises on this list.
This is the TOP 10 new Game Pass releases for 2024 based on the number of players in their debut week:
- Call of Duty: Black Ops 6
- Palworld
- Indiana Jones and the Great Circle
- S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl
- Dead Island 2
- Diablo IV
- Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II
- Hell Let Loose
- Evil West
- Mafia: Definitive Edition
There are several interesting points in this list:
- Analysts said Palworld launched with 31% fewer players in its debut week than Black Ops 6.
- You can see that Dead Island 2 had a better start on Game Pass than Diablo IV or Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II.
- It is also worth paying attention to the game Mafia: Definitive Edition. It was released back in 2020, and this is the oldest project that made it into the TOP 10.
It is noteworthy that the list does not only include AAA games. Projects such as Evil West and Hell Let Loose can be classified as AA games, but at the same time they aroused wide interest among Game Pass players, although they were not added to the service on the day of release.
