Blizzard has prepared a gift for players for the holiday season. Anyone can play Diablo IV for free – a trial version has become available on Xbox, Playstation and PC consoles in digital stores. You can play it until January 3, 2025.
In addition to the Diablo IV base game trial, Blizzard is giving players the Vessel of Hatred DLC content to play for free. You won’t be able to dive into the expansion’s new jungle region for free, but you can play as a Spiritborn, a new class introduced for the first time in Diablo IV. It is important to note that you will not be able to level up the hero from the DLC beyond level 25 – these are the limitations of the trial version.
Diablo IV is offered to be tested against the backdrop of the success of its powerful competitor – Path of Exile 2, which was released earlier in December. It became available in early access and only on PC, but its sales have already exceeded 1 million copies, and the peak number of concurrent players on Steam has passed the mark of 578,000. It is expected that the release of Path of Exile 2 will take place in 2025 on Xbox, Playstation and PC in the full version, and the game itself will be shareware.
Diablo IV and the Vessel of Hatred expansion are currently discounted on the Microsoft Store as part of a major holiday sale. Let us remind you that you can also play Diablo IV via Game Pass.
