Several major publishers and platform holders have subscription gaming services. The most famous of these services is Game Pass, followed by Playstation Plus, and then Ubisoft+ and EA Play. The BBC reports that publisher SEGA is considering launching its own service with subscription games.
Sega President Shuji Utsumi said in an interview with the BBC that services that allow players to subscribe for a fixed fee per month to a group of products are for the company “very interesting”. According to the head of SEGA, they are now evaluating some possibilities for implementing such a product in their own realities: “We are thinking about something like that and discussing something, but we can’t reveal it right now.”.
Let us remember that last year SEGA announced the beginning of a “new era” for the publishing house. The company plans to bring back some of its legendary franchises, and this year it released several projects that became hits: Persona 3 Reload, Metaphor: ReFantazio, Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth and Sonic X Shadow Generations.
