The VK company presented the OpenVK platform, on which open source software is published – not only the company’s own projects, but also the products of the developer community will be hosted here.

The main areas of activity of OpenVK are IT systems, tools and libraries for developers, as well as artificial intelligence models. When launched, the new resource published, in particular: a platform for creating loaded applications Tarantool; data visualization system for monitoring StatsHouse; VKUI toolkit for designing intuitive user interfaces. The AI model EmoSpeech, designed for speech synthesis, has also been published – it can voice text generated by neural networks, conveying emotional shades.
VK believes that the transition to open source software is a strategically important step both for the company itself and for the market as a whole. Open source projects require investments of tens of millions of rubles and thousands of hours of work by engineers and programmers, but they also stimulate innovation and help create new solutions. This is how VK hopes to attract talented programmers to its ranks. By launching the OpenVK initiative, the company stated that it is ready to become an active participant in the global developer community, contributing to the development of the Russian and global technology markets.
