Croatian studio Faros Interactive, consisting of former developers of Serious Sam and Skywind (The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind on the Skyrim engine), presented a Half-Life-inspired shooter Invariant.
Invariant takes place in the 1990s at the world-famous Antarctic station Nabla. The center is studying a potentially life-saving energy source buried under ice.
Everything goes as usual until the local AI gets out of control. Players in the role of a scientist who arrived on Nabla on a call will have to face the unforeseen consequences of what happened.
Armed with various tools and powerful weapons, Invariant users will have to navigate a labyrinth of corridors and halls, frosty locations and treacherous tunnels.
To uncover the station’s dark secrets, the brave scientist will have to battle AI machines, strange creatures and crazy colleagues, and solve puzzles that will test not only his wits, but also his reflexes.
According to Faros Interactive co-founder Josip Makjanić, the studio is creating a game that “combines intense combat, clever riddles and an interesting story in the chilling surroundings of Antarctica.”.
Invariant is being created for PC (Steam) and does not yet have a release date, but it recently received the first teaser trailer (attached above). Translation into Russian is not stated – the list of supported languages includes only English.
