The authorities intend to collect geodata of Russians from mobile operators

On the Gostekh platform, which combines government services and information systems, a service is being developed to collect and process anonymized geotracks of mobile subscribers – the data will be provided by operators, Forbes reports. This is just one of the projects of the “state lake” data program described in the law adopted last summer. Operators say that they can only transmit ready-made statistics based on this information – transmitting data even in anonymized form creates a threat to the privacy of communications and the personal lives of Russians. Experts point to the nationalization of geotrack data.
