Promoting the Game Pass subscription remains one of the main tasks of Microsoft’s gaming division. It is an important part of the concept that Xbox should be available on every device. The majority of players use the maximum version of the service – Ultimate. At this level, players can play several hundred games from the Game Pass library on smartphones, consoles, PCs and any other device through a browser. Plus, recently it became possible to play games from your own library via the cloud.
But in some markets, PC Game Pass on its own is growing faster than Ultimate. In particular, this is happening in the Asian region. Back in 2023, Phil Spencer said that in Japan and other Asian countries, the PC Game Pass service has grown more than 4 times in 3 years. At the same time, he said that in general the number of PC players in Japan has been growing significantly in recent years, and Microsoft is interested in this audience.
Now the official Xbox accounts are teasing something for PC Game Pass in Japan. They published the image, which can be seen below, accompanied by the caption: “PC Game Pass x Famous Illustrator Campaign Coming Soon”.
At the moment, it is unknown which “famous illustrator” Microsoft has hired to promote PC Game Pass in Japan.
