In 2024, Starfield has changed significantly compared to what the game looked like immediately after release. The developers added support for mods, vehicles, many new features and fixes, and the project began to run at 60 FPS on both Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S. However, the first DLC, which was released in September, was criticized, and after that Bethesda stopped releasing regular major updates.
There are rumors that something big is being prepared for Starfield. Gaming insider Odah_SFA, who previously reported accurate information about Starfield, said that Bethesda is planning an unexpected update: “Starfield is getting an update next year that NO ONE expected. Something… code change…”. The insider did not disclose any additional information.
Players in his comments suggest that we may be talking about preparing Starfield for release on Playstation 5 simultaneously with a major update. For some, the talk of a “code change” has raised concerns that it will break mods that are already available in the game.
Let’s remember that in November Bethesda announced that the number of Starfield players had reached 15 million. This is the total number of users on Xbox Series X | S and PC, which includes those players who tried the action-RPG on Game Pass. It is worth saying that this year Starfield was not in the TOP of Steam sales.
