The Japanese corporation SNK announced the creation of a new gaming studio, called KOF Studio. This is a completely new development team, which was formed for a memorable date – the 30th anniversary of The King of Fighters franchise.
In announcing the creation of KOF Studios, SNK Corporation noted that it “will continue to build on SNK’s 30-year fighting game legacy while also revolutionizing the genre”. At the moment, it is not specified what kind of project the new studio will be involved in. SNK says it plans to develop its key franchises: Fatal Fury, Samurai Shodown, The King of Fighters and others.
Note that SNK is currently developing the game Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, which is promised to be released in April 2025 on Xbox Series X | S and other platforms. They are also working on an action RPG based on the Samurai Shodown franchise, which is currently untitled.
