Developers from the 2Unreal5Underground team have prepared a New Year’s gift for fans of Need for Speed Underground 2 – a free demo version of the unofficial remake of the cult 2004 arcade racing game from Electronic Arts.
To run the fan remake of Need for Speed Underground 2, you need Windows 10 or 11 (64 bit), a quad-core CPU, 8 GB of RAM and 3 GB of free storage space. Preferably an SSD and a video card that supports DirectX 12.
This build only supports keyboard/mouse and Xbox controller. With other controllers (for example, DualShock 4), according to the authors, the demo version of the remake, “more likely”will not work.
To instantly unlock all content available in the demo, you need to create a profile and name it UnlockEverything. To start a regular new game, you need to assign the user any other name.
What the demo version of the unofficial remake of NFS Underground 2 looks like was shown in a 20-minute gameplay video (attached above) by blogger NostalgiaNexus – the YouTuber himself is busy rethinking Most Wanted.
2Unreal5Underground shared links to download the demo on the project’s Discord server. You can download the trial version from Google Drive, from the Internet Archive website or Mega and Easy Upload exchangers (only until January 29).
An unofficial remake of Need for Speed Underground 2 is being created by modder Kilian and Russian programmer Ivan Novozhilov using the Unreal Engine 5. There is no release date yet.
