As part of the CES 2025 exhibition, a new gamepad for Xbox One and Xbox Series X consoles was announced | S and for PC from Hyperkin. It’s called The Competitor, and it’s a controller that features an unusual stick layout for Xbox users – in the style of Playstation’s DualSense.
The Hyperkin company itself says that the device is aimed at players who prefer competitive projects. The device has a symmetrical arrangement of sticks, and they use Hall effect sensors, which should reduce the likelihood of drift. The triggers are also based on the Hall effect.
The similarity with the Playstation controller is not only observed in the arrangement of the sticks. The crosspiece is also made in the style of a Sony controller. On the front side of the gamepad, in addition to the standard controls, there is also a button to mute the microphone.
The Competitor gamepad is wired; wireless connection is not provided.
At the moment, Hyperkin has not announced the price and release date of The Competitor controller for Xbox.
