In November 2024, Xbox Series X game consoles | S is 4 years old since their release. Analysts from vgchartz summed up the results of global console sales in November 2024, and also compared them with the results of the previous generation of consoles.
In November 2024, the following were sold worldwide:
- Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S – 767,118 consoles (-25.4% compared to 2023).
- Playstation 5 and Playstation 5 Pro – 4,120,898 consoles (+18.3% compared to 2023).
- Nintendo Switch – 1,715,636 consoles (-3.9% compared to 2023).
For comparison, in November 2017 (4 years after the release of the previous generation consoles), the sales results were as follows:
- Xbox One – 2.36 million consoles
- Playstation 4 – 3.5 million consoles
It is important to say here that the Xbox One X console went on sale in November 2017, which influenced the success of Microsoft consoles that month. Whereas in November 2024, the Playstation 5 Pro consoles were released, which also affected sales.
