Developers from the modest Slovak studio Fatbot Games (Vaporum series) have announced the release date of their old-school shooter Gravelord in Steam Early Access. The announcement was accompanied by a new gameplay trailer.
Let us remember that Gravelord was presented last summer and until recently had no release date at all. As it became known, early access of the game on Steam will start in two weeks, on January 22.
At launch they promise a full first episode with eight intense levels that “will test your reflexes and instincts”as well as a bonus level for multiple playthroughs.
Fatbot Games also mentioned plans for a built-in level editor (will appear after the release of 1.0). In addition, a text translation into Russian is indicated on Steam – it will appear in the launch version or only in the release version, it is not specified.
Gravelord tells the story of the buffalo-healthy undertaker Quido, who sets out to avenge his father and comment on what is happening “Catchphrases in the style of Duke Nukem” with a characteristic English accent.
Players will have to run and jump through the levels “like an athlete”turn your enemies into a bloody pulp with powerful weapons including a phantom shovel, and power up Quido with tarot cards.
The authors position Gravelord as an old-school shooter in the spirit of Doom and Quake with modern graphics and sound, a cool hero, hand-crafted levels, an abundance of secrets and hordes of enemies.
