Journalists from major gaming publications began receiving keys for the game Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 at the beginning of January. The developers from Warhorse decided to give the press about a month so that they could get acquainted with the large-scale role-playing game and write their reviews, the embargo on publication of which will be lifted on February 3. Today, previews of the game were published, compiled by publications after 5-10 hours of play.
Highlights about Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, which were told by critics:
- It’s immediately obvious that the game was created not as an experiment, but “with the potential to be a hit.” Many journalists note that “the serious budgets invested in the project have become visible.”
- Graphically, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 has improved significantly compared to the first part. Lighting, shadows, textures, detail of the world – these aspects are praised by critics. Some journalists noted that in some places the animations looked “clumsy.”
- The atmosphere remains one of the main features of the game; the developers have well conveyed the feeling of being in medieval Europe.
- The game is suitable for both fans of the first part and beginners. The events of the last part will be told in the background at the very beginning of the game.
- The dialogue system has become more advanced compared to the first part. Checks in it depend on various factors, including the appearance of the hero and the presence of blood on his clothes.
- The combat system was made more dynamic and varied, while maintaining realism.
- The game is not afraid to raise “adult topics”.
- At the stage of forming an opinion for the preview, some bugs were observed in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, which the authors promised to fix for release.
