Arkane studio released Dishonored 2 back in 2016, before the purchase of Zenimax Media by Microsoft Gaming. The game has not received an update for a long time, and it is not optimized for current generation consoles.
On January 9, a 42 GB update was released for Xbox One and Xbox Series X consoles | S. It came as a surprise to players, considering that 9 years have already passed since its release, and the Arkane studio itself did not announce it in advance. Reddit users drew attention to the update.
The Dishonored 2 update doesn’t make any major changes to the game. After the update to version 01.07, the project does not receive any improvements in performance on Xbox Series X | S.
Judging by other platforms (PC and Playstation, where the update also became available), this update fixes some bugs and errors in language packs. It doesn’t add the long-awaited FPS boost or FOV slider to the console versions, which Dishonored 2 fans have been asking for for a long time.
It appears that Xbox players will need to completely re-download Dishonored 2 to update the game. At the same time, this update on PC weighs less than 1 GB.
You can play Dishonored 2 with a Game Pass subscription.
