Microsoft Vice President Yusuf Mehdi, responsible for Windows development, said that one of the most important technologies that consumers will be looking to upgrade in 2025 is not a refrigerator, TV or smartphone, but a computer with Windows 10. Mehdi has made others bold statements, including: “Windows 11 is available at a time when the world needs it most” So what “Windows will be at the forefront of artificial intelligence innovation”.
In his recent post, Mehdi actively promotes Microsoft’s AI features, mentioning Copilot no less than 14 times. Microsoft’s AI assistant has recently made headlines, boosted by its announcement during CES 2025 that it would be integrated into TVs from LG and Samsung. It’s hard to say how useful this feature will be on TVs.
Obviously, Microsoft would like consumers to choose what they call Copilot Plus PCs when upgrading their PCs. Mehdi said this type of device is up to five times faster than the most popular Windows PCs from five years ago that are still in use today. He also added that the flagship Copilot Plus PC models are up to 58% faster than the Apple Mac Book Air with the M3 chip.
Microsoft’s campaign to get people to use Windows 11 has not been successful. Many Windows 10 users are irritated by full-screen pop-ups with OS advertisements. Despite the fact that the support period for Windows 10 ends on October 14, 2025, this version of the OS continues to be popular around the world. According to the source, over the past two months, the share of devices with Windows 10 has increased to 62.7%, while the share of Windows 11 has decreased and amounted to 34.1%.
