Yesterday, NVIDIA released a driver for new GeForce RTX 5090/5080 graphics cards, and with it updated NVIDIA App. It is a versatile application that concentrate all settings and additional features that were previously offered as part of GeForce Experience. The main changes have affected new DLSS 4 graphics cards and technology, but another method of generating Smooth Motion staff is added.
The NVIDIA App Graphic Settings section has software settings that allow DLSS parameters at the driver level. You can now change the CNN model through the driver to a new and more advanced Transformer model, as well as forcibly turn on the Multi Frame Generation instead of the old generation method.
To forcibly update DLSS scaling, Ray Reconstruction and Frame Generation, you need each option to turn on the game, then log in to the NVIDIA App and for the desired application in the software settings select DLSS Override and new mode. In the Preset List, select J to use the new DLSS model based on Transformer algorithms.
Transformer works on GeForce RTX video cards, but Multi Frame Generation is only on new GeForce RTX 50. This generation method can be activated in 75 games from the previously stated list. But also a surprise for users of new video cards was the technology of Smooth Motion. It adds one additional frame between two frames in games that do not support DLSS. In fact, it is another method of generating a personnel that can be used for games without NVIDIA RTX technology. Here you can draw an analogy with the technology of generation of AMD Fluid Motion Frames, so only Smooth motion is available for activation only on GeForce RTX 50.
New features have been added to the NVIDIA BroadCast application that you can download via Nvidia App. Here is a quality improvement in the microphone sound and new background effects for the chamber of the stripes.
