“Monster Hunter Wilds” will support the PS5 Pro directly for the release. As a result, owners of Sony’s power console can look forward to improved resolution and ray tracing, while a third mode will also be available.
Capcom gave further insights into yesterday’s showcase „Monster Hunter Wilds“ and presented one brand new trailerswho presented a new biom with the “Iceshard Cliffs”. The return of the Nerscylla and the Gore Magala was also confirmed.
However, Capcom also took the opportunity to present the PS5-Pro support of “Monster Hunter Wilds” in detail. After the Graphics modes for the PS5 already known Waren, owners of Sony’s Power console now also know which technical optimizations you can look forward to.
Raytracing and balanced mode on the PS5 Pro
According to this, “Monster Hunter Wilds” on the PS5 Pro will support the new Technik Playstation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR), so that an improved representation of the highly scaled resolution is possible. A total of three graphics modes are available. The raytracing mode at 30 FPS and 4K (rendering resolution 3072 × 1728) offers additional reflections. The performance mode, on the other hand, will enable a picture rate with 60 fps and 4K (rendering resolution 1920 × 1080).
PS5-Pro owners also have the opportunity to choose the so-called balanced mode. This represents a combination of the other two options and offers 40 FPS at 4K (rendering resolution 1920 × 1404). This variant should be the first choice, especially for players with a VRR-capable screen. In order to demonstrate the graphic modes of “Monster Hunter Wilds” on the PS5 Pro, Capcom has published two corresponding videos.
Monster hunt begins at the end of February
Until the monster hunt in “Monster Hunter Wilds” finally begins, the players no longer have to be patient. The latest part of Capcom’s successful action role-playing series will be released on February 28, 2025, while publication for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and the PC will take place. Cross-play support is also offered, so that cross-platform hunts will also be possible.
If you want to try “Monster Hunter Wilds” yourself before the official release, you will get two public beta tests the opportunity to do so. The first trial phase will take place from 7th to February 10, 2025. The second follows a week later, from February 14th to 17th, 2025.
