During yesterday, we had the opportunity to visit Renault’s stand at Retro Mobile In Paris, where we had a shock between the future, and in some cases the gift of the manufacturer (Renault 5), and of course, the past of the French giant.
After all, in the same space it was possible to find the old Renault 5 and the new Renault 5, the old Renault 4L and the new Renault 4, and of course, a very interesting surprise in the form of Renault File RECORD 2025! A concept car that is in the background a laboratory on wheels, with the great purpose of discovering a few more things in relation to electrical efficiency.
News that will eventually make your way to everyday electric vehicles. This is an extremely interesting project that can greatly help you realize what is the way to improve the electric cars of the future.
RENAULT FILLING RECORD: An electrical experience on wheels!
Therefore, Renault Filault Record 2025 is an electric concept car designed to maximize the energy efficiency of what is a 100% electric car. This is exactly why it aims to establish a new record of consumption and autonomy. All this with an 87 kWh battery. If you don’t know, this is the same capacity as 100% electric Scenic E-Tech.
However, it is noteworthy that this is a monolugar car with extremely aerodynamic body, with the dimensions of 5.12 meters of length and 1.19 meters high.
The weight is around 1000kg. (Of these 1000 kg, 600 belong to the battery).
Objective pointed to the future, but always with a little foot in the past.
This experience to test new technologies, materials and innovations will seek inspiration from the old man 40 CV des Recordsand also to Shooting starbuilt in 1925 and 1956. Deep down, another example of Renault’s current strategy of going to the past to seek magic, then showing all its ability to evolve and innovation in models worthy of 2025.
However, some of the innovations of this concept car are the implementation of Steer-by-Wire, Brake-by-Wire technologies, and of course the use of unique tires to reduce friction. But, of course, a lot of magic is in friction, or rather, in the absence of it. Renault File RECORD 2025 seems to have been carved by the air! This is a demonstration of aerodynamic effectiveness combined with cutting -edge technology.
Even the cockpit has been designed for performance!
However, the interior design of Renault Filault Record 2025 follows the same approach as the exterior, with a cockpit inspired by the worlds of aviation and space travel, where each detail is designed to maximize performance, comfort and efficiency.
Thus, within this reduced environment, each component or system (safety and opening functions, cruise control, accelerator, braking, etc…) is within reach of the driver, with an ergonomic and weight reduction -oriented design. The choice of materials also reflects this thought. The driver’s seat, for example, is made of a stretched canvas, similar to a network, for a light design and optimal support.
The bank adapts to the shape of the driver’s body, which feels in tune with the car. By the way, the bank is supported by thin carbon blades coated by a technical fabric… All grams are important to maximize performance.
The steering wheel is different!
The steering wheel is the visible component of an innovative control architecture: its handles control the acceleration, braking and direction functions, using fully electronic steer-by-vire-wire and brake-wire technologies, discreetly integrated into a 3D printed structure made from Scalmolloy.
This approach is inspired by aeronautical technologies, where commands should be ergonomic and quickly accessible. In the center of the steering wheel, a flexible panoramic screen wrapped in a cylinder allows the clear and immediate visualization of essential data such as speed, autonomy and driving parameters.
By the way, the steering wheel is linked to the protective bubble of the cockpit! Raising when it is open to facilitate the entry and exit of the driver.
Even air circulation is minimalist!
An ingenious air circulation system allows you to ventilate the cockpit without more technical parts, once again to save weight and energy.
Let’s see this concept trying to break records?
Everything indicates yes, but there are no dates for such a thing yet. There is still a lot of work to be done.
History
The File name refers to the Filante Étoile, an aeronautical-inspired monolugar car built in 1956, with the objective of establishing new speed records.
On September 5, 1956, Étoile Filante simultaneously hit several speed records in Bonneville Salt Lake Flats in the United States, including distance records of 1 and 5 kilometers, with speeds of 306.9 km/he 308.85 km/h, respectively.
However, the word record is a direct reference to the 40 hp in records, aerodynamic carrier single -lavhalies, narrower than Renault 40 hp, which established a series of speed and resistance records from 1925.
The first records were established in 1925 with the engineers Garfield and Plessier behind the wheel: 3 -hour world record, 500 km world record and 500 mile world record. We can also add the 24 -hour record with 4,167.578 km traveled to an average speed of 173,649 km/h the following year. The 2025 date in the name of Z41 marks the centenary of these records of 1925.
Nervasport de Records is another of the less known Renault cars that contributed to the establishment of new records. On April 4 and 5, 1934, this car hit no less than nine international records and three world records. Among which the 48 -hour record, with 8,037 km traveled, at an average speed of 167,445 km/h.
First of all, what do you think about all this? Do you think Renault continues to bet well on the technological part while never forgetting the past? Share with us your opinion in the comment box below.
