Anyone who orders from the Bijenkorf online store now will have until September 3rd at the earliest to receive the product at home. The department store chain reported the situation on its website. Following a security incident at logistics partner CEVA Logistics, Bijenkorf’s delivery times increased significantly.
De Bijenkorf previously warned that the company was experiencing delays in processing orders, returns and refunds. The department store chain said on Wednesday it had been affected by the CEVA data breach, which also affected other companies including online store Bol, eyewear chain Ace & Tate and Ajax.
“Due to the security incident at CEVA, the logistics processes supporting Bijenkorf have also been disrupted. As a result, the processing and delivery times of orders are currently taking longer than normal,” a Bijenkorf spokesperson explained. “We are working with CEVA to restore service and making every effort to minimize the impact to customers.”
the next day
Orders are usually placed before 10pm. Products from the Bijenkorf online store are delivered next day (except Sundays). The department store chain said it has received many questions from customers about long delivery times. “We are currently increasing the option for customers to order items from our store. Delivery times for these items will be shorter.” The spokesperson would not say how many orders the company has lost as a result of the issue.
The leak also affected Ace & Tate’s orders, returns and refunds. Currently, frames can only be ordered online from the optical chain and picked up in store. The company writes on its website that the lenses are still available for standard delivery.
personal information
In Bol, the incident affected two systems used to process orders from one distribution center. “A range of logistics and sales partners at affected locations have been temporarily offline and some orders have been canceled or may be delayed. Our other logistics locations remain operational,” the company reported last week.
The breach may have allowed unauthorized personnel to access the personal data of the company’s customers.
CEVA does not want to provide any information about the data breach.
