Google is facing serious problems after the latest version of its AI agent failed to roll out successfully, and it is trying to fix the problem as soon as possible. After the mixed response to the Gemini 3.5 Pro, the company decided to rely on the rapid development of the Flash series models.
Gemini 3.7 Flash was released only three weeks after Gemini 3.6 Flash. Such a short gap between launches suggests that Google intends to accelerate the development of this product line and help regain the position lost due to less successful launches of previous models.
Google calls the new product the smartest way for programming and artificial intelligence agents to work. By the end of 2026, the starting price for Gemini 3.7 Flash will be $0.75 per 1 million input tokens and $3.75 per 1 million output tokens. The latter figure is half the cost of withdrawing Gemini 3.6 Flash, which is $7.50 for 1 million tokens.
At the same time, the new model does show a significant improvement in performance. In Agent Arena ratings, Gemini 3.7 Flash ranks 20th, while the previous version only ranked 35th. In the DeepSWE test, the new product scored 65.5%, 18.8% higher than the Gemini 3.6 Flash score – while costing half as much to use this model.
Therefore, Google can simultaneously improve the performance of Gemini 3.7 Flash and reduce its price. This could help the company make up for the failures of previous versions and the launch of the Gemini 3.5 Pro, which was repeatedly delayed and rumored to have failed to meet Google’s internal targets.
