The new Lara Croft adventure now has a more specific new release date. The action game’s release had previously been delayed from 2027 to 2028.
When the new Tomb Raider Catalyst was initially announced, it was widely rumored that it would be released in 2027. The blow to the neck came a few weeks ago when the game was haphazardly postponed to 2028. Now, the release deadline is at least a little clearer.
Fortunately, as of now, we may not have to wait until the end of 2028. That’s the conclusion in a new annual report from rights holder Embracer Group. In the aforementioned report, it has now been confirmed that Tomb Raider: Catalyst should be released within the 2027/2028 fiscal year.
As a result, the release deadline has been significantly shortened and will be pushed back to early 2028 according to the current planning status. Why: The current fiscal year ends on March 31, 2028, which means the so-called action hit should be planned for release in the first quarter of 2028 – unless it’s delayed again.
“Tomb Raider: Catalyst” will be the first new part of the series after “Tomb Raider: Shadow” released in 2018. Before then, Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis will be released on February 12, 2027, a comprehensive remaster of the first Lara Croft adventure.
