Xbox CEO Asha Sharma unexpectedly revealed that she had a chance to watch the walkthrough The Elder Scrolls 6. Unless her words were an unintentional slip of the tongue, it could mean Bethesda’s highly anticipated role-playing game is further down the road in development than the official announcement suggests.
The Elder Scrolls 6 is currently announced at E3 2018 Bethesda Game Studios No information about the project has actually been revealed. The studio has been busy for a long time Fallout 76 and StarfieldHowever, with the final game set to release in 2023, development of the next Elder Scrolls game has become one of the team’s top priorities. However, the game still doesn’t have an official subtitle or release date.

On August 11, Asha Sharma posted a message on social media, mentioning that she had finished watching the plot of “The Elder Scrolls 6” in the morning. The head of Xbox was very pleased with what she saw, and singled out the scale of future RPGs. According to her, the game itself looks “incredible” and the storyline is even more impressive.
One detail in Sharma’s message particularly caught the attention of fans. After the name The Elder Scrolls 6, she left eight stars. This immediately sparked speculation that the game might have subtitles. In theory, eight characters could correspond to the number of letters in the name, but it’s equally possible that the asterisk is just a placeholder. Therefore, this detail shouldn’t be taken as a complete hint yet.
It’s not entirely clear what Sharma means by “pass.” She may have personally tested a production version of The Elder Scrolls 6, but it’s also possible that Bethesda arranged for her to demonstrate pre-recorded gameplay.

Still, the fact of this display looks interesting. In late July, Todd Howard reported The Elder Scrolls 6 and Fallout 5 Will be created on the new Creation Engine 3, which will replace the Creation Engine 2 used in Starfield. Bethesda bosses say the new version of the engine will allow the team to create a more stable version and test the game more thoroughly within the studio.
In the meantime, you shouldn’t wait for the upcoming release of Ancient Scrolls 6 just yet. Bethesda has yet to release a full gameplay trailer or even reveal the location of the project. Therefore, the words from the head of Xbox suggest that development is gradually gaining momentum, rather than that it is imminent.
Another issue involves platforms. Since acquiring Bethesda, Microsoft has included several of the studio’s major games as part of its exclusivity strategy, but a final decision on The Elder Scrolls 6 has yet to be announced. Skyrim launches on all major platforms around the same time, but things could be completely different with the new installment.

Against this backdrop, it’s particularly odd that Sharma’s news comes almost simultaneously with the release The Elder Scrolls 4: Annihilation Remastered On Nintendo Switch 2. While fans are exploring updated versions of the classic RPG, Bethesda itself is apparently continuing to slowly push towards the release of the next big game in the series.
It seems that there is still a long way to go before the complete presentation of “The Elder Scrolls 6”. But if Xbox executives have had a chance to watch the project play out, fans can finally look forward to years of waiting as it slowly moves into a more active phase.
