Apple is proposing a new 15% fee for in-game microtransactions when payments are made outside the App Store. The company’s filing came as the U.S. Supreme Court rejected a request to delay the lawsuit, citing a previous 27% commission.
Epic Games representatives rejected the new proposal, arguing that the established fees were too high and violated the appeals court’s recommendations. Meanwhile, Apple filed a motion with Judge Yvonne Gonzalez-Rogers asking the two sides to hold a settlement conference overseen by Magistrate Judge Joseph Spero after the publisher’s lawyers refused to negotiate.
The company insists confidential discussions will help avoid protracted litigation but has not yet provided specific terms of a peace agreement.
