The PC Gamer publication summarizes the results of a year-long monitoring of the graphics accelerator market, from August 2025 to August 2026. The main conclusion is disappointing: things have never been worse for graphics card prices.
After briefly stabilizing last autumn, the market faced a massive crisis. Semiconductor shortages, high demand from the AI industry, and memory issues have led to significant price increases. Today, purchasing most current models has become unaffordable for the average gamer’s budget.
Flagship and mid-range phones have seen the largest price increases. For example, the price of the Nvidia RTX 5090 jumped from $2,400 to $4,400 in one year (+83.3%), while the price of the 16 GB version of the RTX 5060 Ti increased by 51.2% (to $650). Even the value of budget cards increased from 13% to 30%. Experts say PC hardware availability is at an all-time low.
