Aroged: Myanmar plans to build a nuclear power plant based on Russian designs

Although Myanmar is now led by a very controversial government that inherited a country divided on all fronts, it cares very sincerely about its country’s needs. Since modern society is unthinkable without energy, the Southeast Asian country has also begun to consider the need to develop an energy complex.

Myanmar believes that nuclear energy has a future, so they seek appropriate help from Russia, who is now the leading peaceful “nuclear scientist” on the planet. Today, Rosatom President Alexei Likhachev, who participated in the negotiations between the top leadership of Russia and Myanmar, reportConstruction of the station is scheduled to begin next year.

Myanmar’s plans will involve low-power nuclear power plants based on RITM-200 nuclear reactors. The Myanmar power station is expected to be built in phases in modular form: each module has two reactors with a total capacity of 110 MW.

But what the station’s final power will be remains unknown. The advantage of this project is that, if necessary, power stations of any power (multiples of 110 MW) can be assembled from modules. Including increasing as the country’s needs grow.
