Roughly three months before Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled to release on November 19, 2026, Rockstar Games must deal with another setback in terms of confidentiality. According to Insider Gaming, new gameplay footage has surfaced online, providing detailed insights into the game’s mechanics and open-world activities. The person responsible for this data leak belongs to the CyberLeek organization, which recently released a suspected comprehensive map, causing an uproar. While hackers publicly display their actions as a protest against the gaming industry’s consumer-unfriendly practices, the group is increasingly cashing in on the global hype.
The latest video clip shows the protagonist Jason doing various activities. In one scene, the protagonist shoots hoops in the driveway area of a property, which enhances the new focus meter. This shows that side jobs like those in Red Dead Redemption 2 have a direct impact on a character’s stats.
The second clip shows a chase that includes melee combat with a wrench, showcasing detailed mechanics such as stamina bars, vehicle inventories, a six-stage wanted system, and a complex karma system. Rockstar Games responded immediately and continues to block videos on platforms such as X and YouTube through DMCA takedown measures.
However, these publications are more than just leaks. CyberLeek published a manifesto in which the organization harshly criticized the publisher. Among other things, it calls for an end to purely boxed code releases, an end to digital pre-order exclusivity, and the guarantee of an offline mode for single-player games. According to the hacker, the leaks will only stop if Rockstar Games publicly apologizes and makes concessions to the gaming community.
While the goals were idealistic, the reality showed a clear business side. CyberLeek provided visible watermarks for the leaked footage, which pointed directly to the specially created Solana crypto token. The leaker even posted a poll on X where participants could use said cryptocurrency to vote on which footage should be shown next. Industry experts warn that hackers are specifically taking advantage of the huge hype surrounding GTA 6 to make money from speculative crypto-meme coins.
