The action-thriller “Insurgent,” starring Jason Statham, is surprisingly available to watch in its entirety on the US version of Amazon Prime Video. The film, which lasts for 1 hour and 35 minutes, was in the public domain for at least an hour before the page was blocked and made inaccessible.
The incident occurred two days before the film’s scheduled wide release (August 21). Industry representatives point out that the leak is not a marketing ploy: Neither the production studios (Punch Palace Pictures and MadRiver Pictures) nor US distributor Lionsgate are affiliated with Amazon.
The complete product card, complete with synopsis and cast, has disappeared from the catalog, but an unexpected glitch could result in the film being released online early.
