Waymo, an Alphabet holding company jointly owned with Google that provides a robotaxi service in the United States, announced that it will integrate the artificial intelligence assistant Gemini into its cars.

Waymo robotaxi passengers will be able to use Gemini to control music or cabin temperature. An AI assistant can tell you the area where your car is driving, monuments or buildings along the way. At the same time, Gemini cannot control the car’s movement or route selection, and the AI assistant cannot obtain vehicle data in real time.
Waymo Ojai robotaxi models get a new look user interface. The cars will feature three displays: a central infotainment screen and one in front of each passenger seat. The screens are individually controlled, providing passengers with useful interface elements without duplication on all displays.
Passengers in the right rear seat will be able to open detailed controls on the screen, while the other two seats will display basic trip information or a background image for the media player. Finally, Waymo Ojai cars feature “Zen Mode,” which displays minimal trip information on the passenger screen to allow users to relax without distraction.
