Let us remember that in mid-June, Unfrozen announced plans to add to the game a remastered version of Mysterious Island, one of the most popular maps of the legendary Heroes of Might and Magic III (Horn of the Abyss add-on).
They promised to add a reimagining of Mysterious Island in one of the upcoming Legacy Updates — and two months later, the time has come. The map appeared in the game’s 13th patch (version 0.80.45).
“Mysterious Island” is widely welcomed by PvE fans in “Heroes of Might and Magic”
The adaptation of “Mysterious Island” in “Heroes of Might and Magic: The Old Age” was carried out by French modder Papyjama, the creator of the original map, who was already a level designer at Unfrozen Studio at the time.
“The Mysterious Island” is adapted from the novel “Robinson Nader” by French writer Jules Verne. “The game takes on new life thanks to the mechanics, factions and atmosphere of the old days”.
With the introduction of new mechanisms such as underground levels, the story of “Mysterious Island” will be further expanded
In addition to this, version 0.80.45 also includes major improvements to Arena mode, gameplay improvements, the ability to hide interfaces, and bug fixes. Full list of changes available on the game’s Steam page.
Heroes of Might and Magic: The Old Age will be released in early access on April 30 steam, microsoft store and Game Pass. The game received “very positive” reviews on Steam (87% rating) and sold 1 million copies within a month.
