Farthest Frontier developers are gearing up for a rework of trade and massive yet-to-be-announced mechanics

The developers of The Farthest Frontier have finally decided to break their silence and remind players that the project has not been abandoned at all. Two major free updates and a full expansion with tons of new content are on the way.

Version 1.2 is nearly complete, with testing scheduled to begin this fall. In about a month, the team will discuss the updated content in detail. One of the major changes is a completely redesigned trading station with updated trading mechanics. The developers separately hinted that the current trading interface deserves a separate discussion, but it seems they will eventually address the issue.

At the same time, the list of innovations will not be limited to trade. The author promises to reveal additional details during the full preview, which will appear closer to the start of testing. After version 1.2 is released, attention will turn to the next phase of development of the project.

Update 1.3 is scheduled to be released early next year, and the developers will share details about the update after the previous version is released. The upcoming expansion looks even bigger. It will bring about major changes such as new production chains, mechanisms, and resources. Judging from the team’s hints, development is going well, and a nautical joke is appropriate here – things are going “smoothly.”
