Recently, insiders have piqued fans’ interest in the upcoming announcement of a surprise sequel to a relatively new Xbox game series. It is now clear what type of intellectual property rights we are talking about.

We recall that last week, authoritative insider Nate the Hate (aka NateDrake) and Windows Central executive editor Jez Corden reported that Xbox was planning to show off a new game at Gamescom 2026.
The project is a continuation of one of the Xbox franchises (not one of the classic ones), however, it was created not by an internal Microsoft studio, but by some third-party partners, whose choices should surprise players.
