ASUS has opened pre-sales for the ROG Xbox Ally X20, a special edition created to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the ROG series. The handheld computer will be available in stores from October 15, 2026, and the bundle is now available for pre-order online on the ASUS eShop and ASUS Gold Store with a suggested retail price of €2,599.99.
The biggest news involves a sales option in the US: initially Asus said it would only be sold with the ROG XREAL R1 Edition 20 glasses, which we recently reviewed in the standard version, and now In the US, it also has a standalone version. The same Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme, but an OLED display arrives
In terms of performance, the ROG Xbox Ally X20 maintains the same hardware configuration as the standard ROG Xbox Ally. The core of the device is AMD’s Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme, supported by 24 GB LPDDR5X-8000 memory and 1 TB PCIe 4.0 SSD. The most obvious difference is the screen: X20 uses 7.4-inch OLED panel Features 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution and 120 Hz update rate.
It also supports AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and claims a maximum HDR brightness of 1,400 nits. The standard model uses a smaller 7-inch LCD display with the same frequency of 120 Hz. So the Anniversary Edition focuses first and foremost on image quality and a more refined aesthetic.

Asus has also made some changes to the controls. ROG Xbox Ally X20 does not use TMR joystickwhile the D-pad can be manually configured to work in four or eight directions. The design is also unique to the Celebration Edition: the console features a translucent black body through which gold internal components can be seen, complete with a ROG 20th Anniversary badge.
The device comes with an 80 Wh battery (the same capacity as the ROG Xbox Ally X) and 1 TB of memory. Therefore, comparison with standard models makes the positioning of the X20 clearer.
