PlaySide has debuted live gameplay of Game of Thrones: Battle for Westeros, an RTS set in the world of A Song of Ice and Fire, which will be released on Steam in early 2027.
Four factions of fire and sword will journey across the Seven Kingdoms so that their leader can sit on the fifth point of the Iron Throne. Fans will see many familiar characters based on the Game of Thrones series: Robb Stark, Jon Snow, Ghost and Gray Wind, Jaime and Tywin Lannister, Daenerys Targaryen, and even the Night King himself – each with unique abilities that can change the tide of battle.
The basis of this strategy is making key decisions: training troops, providing resources, constructing buildings, and capturing territory. Each side of the conflict has its own armies, mechanics, and playstyles, determined by their status in the cult show. By the end of 2026, developers will discuss the upcoming beta for Game of Thrones: Battle for Westeros.
