Effective September 1, 2026, Order No. 316 of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation has come into effect in Russian schools, which modifies Order No. 115 and formally stipulates unified requirements for the use of mobile phones in the classroom. This was announced by Education Minister Sergei Kravtsov.
The head of the department recalled that federal legislation already imposes severe restrictions on the use of smartphones in the classroom. The use of electronic devices is strictly prohibited except in emergency situations that endanger the life or health of students and teachers. Meanwhile, during breaks, school children will be able to use mobile devices, subject to internal rules set by specific educational organizations.
