Studio One More Level and publisher Lyrical Games have revealed a new story trailer for their ambitious first-person action game Valor Mortis at gamescom 2026. The developers have confirmed that the project will release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on October 13, 2026, and will be added to the Xbox Game Pass subscription catalog from launch date.

The game takes place in an alternate Europe in the 19th century. After the victory at Waterloo, Napoleon’s troops marched eastward, where they encountered mysterious plagues and supernatural forces. Players take on the role of William Dowsett, a resurrected British volunteer tainted by corruption. This infection gives the hero dark abilities, but his mind is linked to the voice of Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte himself, voiced by famous French actor Vincent Cassel. In the latest trailer, the author shows for the first time the leader of the local resistance movement nicknamed “The Shrike”, his main associates, and the dynamic battle against the bizarre boss. For those who want to evaluate the combat system for themselves, a free demo is available on Steam.
