HoYoverse has revealed important details about the business model for Nodusfall, a new action role-playing game featuring a dark fantasy world and battles with massive monsters. Talk to the portal computer gamer The developer stated that it will be distributed according to the free model, but the characters will not be obtained through the gashapon mechanism.
“Nodusfall will be a free-to-play game with long-term support. What we can now reveal is that characters will not be obtained through random draws. We hope that players will be able to discover this core game content through continued play. Cosmetic monetization will be one of the important areas we consider.” The developer said.
At Gamescom, reporters got to try out the four available characters. Their appearance can be changed through clothing, hairstyles and accessories. So while the full paid content has not yet been revealed, one of the expected monetization pillars will be cosmetics.
Nodusfall itself is noticeably different from HoYoverse’s usual visual style. Instead of a bright anime aesthetic, the developers opted for a dark fantasy, with a combat system influenced by Elden Ring and Monster Hunter. Combat proves to be more dynamic and faster than in those games, and player mistakes are less punished.
Nodusfall’s release date and platform list have yet to be revealed.
