Rhythm Paradise Groove returns to the top of Japanese charts, Nintendo Switch 2 dominates

Japanese magazine “Famitsu” published Estimated sales figures for the Japanese game marketrelating to the week between August 17 and 23, 2026. The analysis takes into account the proliferation of hardware and software sales in physical formats.

As far as video games go, the best new game of the week is Steins;Gate RE:BOOT. The book sold a total of 15,153 copies. A detailed analysis of each platform shows that the most popular versions are nintendo switch 2It launched with sales of 7,613 units, followed by the PlayStation 5 version with sales of 4,002 units, and finally the original Switch console version with sales of 3,538 units.

Turning to the hardware side, data shows that Nintendo Switch 2 sales continue to rise, with a total of 20,734 units sold.
