Tom Clancy’s The Division 2: Cross-Platform Play and Central Park DLC cast a shadow over the future

Ubisoft has released some news about Tom Clancy’s The Division 2. A major new feature has been officially confirmed via cross-platform play – the massive Central Park DLC is slowly but surely casting its shadow.

Ubisoft still has big plans for the long-running hit Tom Clancy’s The Division 2. Cross-platform play was announced as a major new feature for the online action RPG and will be added in the future. In the future, players from different platforms will be able to play against each other, although there is no specific release date yet; this is still up in the air as some work is still needed. Beyond that, part of the multiplayer infrastructure had to be rebuilt.

Once the necessary work is completed, all The Division 2 players will be migrated to the new cross-platform play environment. Cross-platform play will continue to be activated as a default setting, but players can also deactivate the feature if they wish.

Clans should also be migrated so that players from different platforms can join such clans in the future. The capacity of a single clan will increase from 50 to 100 members. AND: With the migration, the leaderboards will be completely reset.

The second big topic is the next expansion pack “Echoes of Central Park”. This has been confirmed on the basis of the roadmap, but now it also casts a shadow over the future.

In the add-on, you end up in New York City – just days after the virus outbreak. Central Park was used as a mass grave, and few have since dared to return there. You’ll get calls from the park, and you’ll also hear some rumors from the Upper West Side about a new danger in the park – so you’ll have to go there in the DLC.

The atmosphere in Echoes of Central Park is said to be much darker than that in The Division 2. Ubisoft says the new area will be “a place where Forky is as dangerous as any opponent.”

Specific details about the DLC will be available as part of a special reveal scheduled for September 24, 2026. There will also be gameplay included.
