Battlestate Games has released preliminary development plans for Escape from Tarkov, promising fans a slew of truly monumental content through the end of 2026. As early as September, players will receive the long-awaited rework of the annoying Lighthouse map and Warlord quest chain, followed by a massive update in October, transitioning to the Unity 6 engine, improving AI in PvE and server optimization.
The highlight of the year will be the December patch 1.4.0: it will bring the start of the second season, the new location “End of the Line”, a powerful boss called the Guide, as well as the long-awaited FAMAS and G3 guns, first-person magazine loading animations and the controversial knockdown mechanic with the ability to heal allies. Developers are promising to make the remaining months as busy as possible, although they have traditionally warned plans may change.
