Rockfish Games is releasing the last major update for Everspace 2. Not too long ago, the implementation for Nintendo Switch 2 was also released.
Eight years in the making, the space epic Everspace 2 comes to an end with a final update shortly after its release on Nintendo Switch 2. This brings new technical improvements to the game on PC, Xbox and PlayStation – and the game is now officially verified on Steam Deck.

Our vision for an open-world spaceship action RPG was born when we founded the studio over a decade ago, and embarking on this ambitious project has been an exciting journey, one that we’re grateful for for all we’ve stayed in to make it happen.” 2″ players, they shared the demo version and encouraged us to keep it going.”
The final patch includes not only optimizations but also bug fixes. User-friendliness should also be improved, with other platforms now benefiting from features developed during the port to Switch 2. Performance has also been improved, especially on Xbox Series S. A UI update developed specifically for handheld mode improves the readability of the Steam Deck – another reason why the game is now officially “Steam Deck Verified”.
In the future, only necessary patches and some console-specific changes will be made to Everspace 2. The Everspace series will continue to release new games, but details will be announced at a later date.
