Stellar Blade is coming to Switch 2, and now we know how the game will technically work on the Nintendo console.
Developer Shift Up has shed some light on how the announced port of Stellar Blade to the Nintendo Switch 2 will technically work. Therefore, the full version targets 60 fps on this console. To achieve this, different resolutions are used in handheld mode and docked mode.
Chief Technology Officer Li Dongji made a specific statement on this in an interview. Therefore, Stellar Blade should run at 720p resolution in handheld mode to achieve 60 fps. If you’re playing in docked mode on your console, you’ll upgrade to 1080p resolution.
Due to its Tegra T239 processor, Nintendo Switch 2 also supports NVIDIA’s DLSS upgrade, but it has no frame generation function compared to PC. Instead, Shift Up takes advantage of another feature in AMD’s FSR 3.1 upgrade technology: frame interpolation.
More information, as well as a release date for the Switch 2 implementation, will likely be announced at the next Direct conference, which is rumored to take place on September 10th. Stellar Blade will also be playable on the console during Tokyo Game Show 2026 from September 16th to 21st.
