Capcom has released a new gameplay trailer for the Dark Rises major expansion for action role-playing game Dragon’s Dogma 2. The film shows expeditions through the snowy Norgandia region, battles with new opponents, the search for hidden artifacts and its evaluation system that determines the properties and capabilities of the equipment received.
The action in the trailer takes place around the settlement of Norgandia, the last safe place in the once prosperous region. Beyond it, players will find the ruins of ancient civilizations, caves, and snowfields hiding artifacts. Before a raid, you must stock up on supplies, improve your equipment, and get some rest, as there is no guarantee of safety outside the settlement.
The area is inhabited by dangerous opponents. The warriors of Beorkan attack anyone who comes within sight of their firepower, while the Norgan giants are able to envelop their enemies in ice in one fell swoop. A more dangerous opponent is the ice dragon Finbul, who guards the ruins with higher potential. Not only can you find valuable items in combat. Observant players will find them in abandoned settlements and caves, and the local direwolf Freki can guide prey for a fee.
Discovered artifacts do not immediately display their properties. They must be brought to Jera, the Warden of the Norgandia settlement, who will evaluate the findings. Two objects that appear identical may acquire completely different characteristics after surgery. Depending on the rarity of the original relic, weapons and armor gain higher stats and can also unlock new abilities or improve the existing skills of the Risen One and his pieces.
Along with the release of the Dragon’s Dogma 2 trailer, a free update has also been released. It improves the frame rate and adds additional save slots, as well as increasing the number of weapon skills you can assign.
Dragon’s Dogma 2: Darkness Rises will be released on PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2 on October 9th.
