This massive project, two and a half years in the making, will now be integrated directly through the in-house Rockstar Games Launcher. The partnership between the creators of the popular NoPixel mod and Rockstar Games marks the culmination of a significant current shift. After the developer took over the team behind the multiplayer platform Cfx.re not long ago, the expertise is now directly incorporated into the highly official product.
The development team views the “nopixel 5” phase as a true new beginning and a complete system reset. With specially tailored mechanics, new classes, in-depth economic features and optimized character development tools, the server is designed to provide unprecedented depth to virtual role playing without compromising the stability of the game.
However, entry into the upcoming testing phase is still strictly regulated. When the closed beta phase began on September 8, Rockstar relied on a purely invitation-only process to attract select players and high-impact streamers. During the first phase, there was intentionally no direct application option for the public. However, those who did not receive a direct message need not despair: the person in charge made it clear that the test will be expanded in several waves, and more community members will be gradually activated for the server.
For users of the previous public servers nopixel Public and nopixel 4.0, there will be no changes for the time being; these will remain running in parallel as usual. The fact that Rockstar Games invested significant resources in GTA Online’s infrastructure before the next major installment in the series begins underscores the immense importance of RP culture. Cosplay livestreams have been seeing record numbers for years on platforms like Twitch, keeping interest in the long-time favorite show at consistently high levels.
By integrating directly into its own client, the studio is creating an orderly and official foundation for future multiplayer experiences. Currently, the developers have not determined when the “nopixel 5” servers will open to the entire player base after the beta test series is completed.
