Jaguar Land Rover released this electric SUV as early as December 2023 and planned to launch the Range Rover electric vehicle in 2024, but its launch was delayed by several years. The car offers traditional interior comfort and high off-road capabilities combined with good dynamics: 542 hp accelerates it to 100 km/h in just over four seconds.

Prices for the brand’s flagship electric SUV range from $138,000 to $208,000, with the top price paid by residents of the brand’s native UK. The power battery with a capacity of 118.5 kilowatt-hours uses an 800-volt architecture and can charge from 10% to 80% in 22 minutes. In ten minutes, the power reserve can be increased by 220 kilometers, giving the crossover a total range of 532 kilometers without charging. According to the WLTP cycle, its cruising range is approximately 595 kilometers.
As mentioned before, the two traction electric motors together produce 542 hp and 850 N·m of torque. According to the manufacturer, the latter figure is 20% higher than competing traction motors of the same size. The vehicle’s weight isn’t specified, but the indicated capacity of the power battery suggests it will be decent. More reassuring for buyers is the fact that the crossover will reach a speed of approximately 96 km/h in 4.3 seconds. In the UK, the SV Black version of the electric Range Rover is priced at $304,000 for the extended version, while the base price for the Autobiography starts at $208,000. For the US market, the more affordable SE version is expected to cost $140,550 including shipping.
Many of the Range Rover’s Western rivals have struggled in the luxury EV market, including Porsche, Audi and Mercedes-Benz, as Chinese automakers offer superior performance and reasonable quality at much lower prices. The creators of the electric Range Rover have to focus on honing the qualities that customers have traditionally valued, which is why the debut of the new product has been delayed by two years. The advanced transmission electronically determines wheel slip torque up to 100 times faster than in a car with an internal combustion engine. One-pedal traction control mode is available for climbs up to 45 degrees. The crossover is able to overcome shoals up to 900 mm deep. In total, more than 300 patent applications have been registered for the electric Range Rover.
Physical controls are concentrated on the steering wheel and center console, but the medium-sized central display isn’t burdened with attached buttons. In addition to 250,000 virtual tests, Range Rover samples were actually driven on roads of varying qualities for a distance equivalent to 38 trips around the world. The machine was tested in temperatures from -45 degrees Celsius to +90 degrees Celsius. The manufacturer offers a warranty of 8 years or 160,000 kilometers for the electric Range Rover. The brand’s next electric product will be a Range Rover GT coupe based on the EMA platform and will debut before the end of the year.
