Bloodthirsty shark action game Maneater 2 has been announced

During the State of Play demo, Tripwire Interactive and Demiurge Studios unveiled Maneater 2, the sequel to the 2020 action game that once again puts players in control of sharks. The game will be released on PC and consoles in 2027.

The events of Maneater 2 will unfold behind closed doors in the Kingdom of Neptune, an ancient Roman-style private island amusement park. A new female bull shark finds herself unattended in the enclosure and begins searching for food and a chance to escape.

The park combines the luxury of Las Vegas with the atmosphere of Disneyland and is built around large-scale experimentation. Developers have created artificial natural areas on the island with different climatic conditions, including arctic and volcanic areas. Bioengineering experiments have also resulted in unusual mutations in local marine life. One of these consequences is the increasing size of organisms. The game materials include the story of a visitor who claimed to have seen a crab the size of a G-Wagon. For sharks, such changes would be a source of new threats, but some of the results of the experiments could be used in its own development.

Trip Westhaven, played by Chris Parnell, will return to the game. He will comment on what is going on and monitor the shark’s movements. Above the water are tourists, celebrities and armed guards, while below are other predators and people on submersibles.

Maneater 2 will be the first game in the series created on Unreal Engine 5. The authors promise more detailed underwater environments, realistic sunlight passage through the water, and improved behavior of the inhabitants of marine ecosystems.
