ElAnalistaDeBits has released a new video comparison dedicated to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, which received a free update yesterday designed to take advantage of the Nintendo Switch 2’s features. This intervention significantly improves image quality, introduces split-screen support for up to 8 players, and significantly reduces load times.
The most notable change is the increase in resolution. Using the console in the dock, you can switch from the 1080p version of the Switch 1 to 4K native mode, while clarity increases in portable mode Up to 720p and 1080p.
No change in frame rate and significantly reduced load times
Framerate remains unchanged: standard single-player matches continue at 60 frames/secondthe same goal has been achieved on previous consoles. Unlike the recent Mario Kart World, there’s no 120Hz mode introduced to increase frame rates at the expense of resolution.
In local multiplayer, the situation is essentially the same between the two platforms: split screen remains at 60 fps for two players, and drops to 30 fps when increasing to three or four users. The update also introduces split-screen support for up to eight players exclusively for Nintendo Switch 2, and even in this case the frame rate remains stable at 30 fps.
Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag resynced version may be coming to Nintendo Switch 2 soon

One of the most tangible improvements involves Loading timemuch faster now. Starting a race in Mario Kart Stadium on Switch 2 takes just 3.5 seconds, while the Switch 1 recorded 9.33 seconds. In addition to technical upgrades and local multiplayer expansions, Update 4.00 also changes the speed of karts and introduces some balancing to the gameplay, making the overall experience more responsive and modern.
