Pearl Abyss has revealed the first major expansion pack for Crimson Desert. DLC is called Chart the unknown will come out October 16, 2026 And, judging by the first trailer, it will be a much bigger update than a regular content update. The developers have prepared new missions, ocean exploration, underwater activities and a mature system for building your own base.

after release red desert The studio releases free updates regularly, gradually expanding the game and fixing the most glaring issues based on community feedback. Because of this, the role-playing game is still attracting a large number of players just months after its launch. Now, Pearl Abyss is ready to take the next step and add a major expansion, paid or standalone, to the game for the first time.
The first details of graphing the unknown are introduced in the State of Play demo. The nearly two-minute trailer shows off brand new features, and the developers clearly decided not to limit themselves to a few extra tasks.
One of the main features of this DLC is exploring the underwater world. Cliff will be able to dive underwater to explore new areas, and Pearly Abyss has managed to surprise players with an unusual method of transportation: in one of the episodes, the main character actually traveled on a shark. Additionally, this feature will allow you to explore the ocean, which will significantly expand the usual size of the game world.
Another big innovation will be building and setting up your own base. Players will be able to create and customize their hideouts using a variety of customization elements. How deep this system will be, and what role it will play in Cliff’s new adventure, the developers have yet to explain in detail.
At the same time, Charting the Unknown will be more than just an additional set of mechanics. The expansion will include new story missions involving Cliff, Winka, and Damiana. Judging from the material provided, players will have to travel to entirely new areas and encounter events not found in the main campaign.
The scale of this add-on is especially impressive compared to the scale of the Crimson Desert itself. The original game already offered hundreds of hours of content, and a large portion of the audience hadn’t even finished the main story. According to previously provided data, only about 10% of players had fully completed the game by the time the DLC was prepared.
As such, Pearl Abyss effectively expands an already vast role-playing game with new territories, activities, and story content. Moreover, Charting the Unknown can only be the first phase of further support for the project.
Previously, the developers admitted that they had not yet decided on the total number of future additions to Crimson Desert. However, if Plotting the Unknown is a success, Pearl Abyss will have a lot of incentive to continue developing the game and release new, large expansion packs.
