Ark: Survival Ascend reveals details about Cerberax, a massive three-headed predator whose taming requires the coordinated work of three survivors at once. In this case, each head must be tamed individually, turning the taming process into a separate test.
Cerberax is able to fight alongside Tyrannosaurus Rex and Ositon, while most creatures weaker than Giganotosaurus or Carcharodontosaurus will have a hard time defeating it. All three heads use different abilities: the one on the right applies fire effects and absorbs venom to weaken prey, and the one on the left does the opposite – it poisons enemies and uses fire to restore health. The central head coordinates the other heads, amplifying their attacks and spreading fire and venom to nearby targets.
Taming is also related to a creature’s characteristics. Once drugged, all of Cerberax’s adrenaline is concentrated in one head. Players need to quickly saddle her up and calm her down before she wakes up next. It is therefore necessary to repeat the process for all three heads. Once tamed, the beast is most effectively controlled by three people: one person controls the body and central head, and two others control the sides. Cerberax will release on September 30th alongside the Unreal Engine 5.8 update, the Therizinosaur rework, and the Gargantar creature in Ark: Dragontopia.
